This Week in Wrexham: A Kit Leak, and the Team News Before Tampa

Two days after the last post and there's already fresh stuff worth covering. One is a team news update, the other has nothing to do with football and everything to do with merchandise.

Cacace, Sheaf and Windass are back, Hardie and Lee are out

Phil Parkinson gave an injury update after Saturday's win over Manchester United, and it's a mixed bag ahead of the Leeds United friendly in Tampa this weekend. Liberto Cacace, Ben Sheaf and Josh Windass are all in line to return, with Cacace back in training after representing New Zealand at the World Cup this summer, per the Yorkshire Evening Post's report on Parkinson's comments. Ryan Hardie and Elliot Lee, on the other hand, picked up knocks before the Man United match and missed out on the trip to Helsinki entirely.

Parkinson called it "the building blocks for us going into the American tour" and said Hardie and Lee "hopefully" haven't picked up anything serious. No word yet on a return timeline for either.

I'd read this as mostly good news. Getting Cacace, Sheaf and Windass back into training before three matches against Premier League opposition matters more than any one friendly result did. Losing Hardie and Lee for a stretch isn't nothing, but there's enough depth in this squad that it shouldn't derail the tour.

The 26/27 home kit showed up before the club said a word about it

Then there's the shirt, and yes, that's it above. Photos surfaced of the new 2026/27 Macron home kit hanging on a shop rail, and separately of Ryan Reynolds handing one to CM Punk, before Wrexham had made any official announcement, per Footy Headlines. Traditional red base, a subtle embossed geometric pattern across the front, white collar and cuffs each carrying a red stripe through the middle.

I run a shop off the back of this club's kit cycle, so leaks like this put me in an odd spot. Part of me wants to get ahead of it and start talking product now. The other part knows Wrexham likes to control its own reveals, and jumping the gun on something the club hasn't confirmed isn't worth it. So consider this the keep-an-eye-out post rather than the here's-how-to-order-it post. What I've seen so far, I like. The embossed pattern is a nice touch, and it feels closer to the shirts from a few seasons back than last year's design did. Proper writeup once it's official.

Six days out

All roads still lead to Tampa on the 25th. If Cacace, Sheaf and Windass are back in the squad by then, that's about as good a place as Wrexham could hope to be heading into three matches against Leeds, Liverpool and Sunderland.
